WELCOME TO THE LOBATSE LIONS CLUB
THE OLDEST CLUB IN DIAMOND COUNTRY, BOTSWANA.
THE LOBATSE LIONS CLUB IS IN BOTSWANA WHICH IS IN SOUTHERN AFRICA. BOTSWANA IS A LAND LOCKED COUNTRY AND PRIDES ITSELF IN ITS RICH RESOURCE OF DIAMONDS. THE COUNTRY ALSO HAS THE ONLY DELTA WHICH DOES NOT FLOW OUT INTO THE SEA BUT ENDS UP IN THE LAND ITSELF. THE LOBATSE LIONS CLUB WAS CHARTERED ON 4TH FEBRUARY 1968.
Assissting the eye clinic at the local Government Athlone hospital with patients needs, sight screening donations etc
ACTIVITIES IN DECEMBER On 8th December three members walked 10 Kms to show support to the Botswana Eye Care society Cell in Lobatse creating awareness about preventable blindness and Vision 2020.
BRINGING IN CHRISTMAS CHEER TO THE LESS UNFORTUNATE AND SICK 14th December was memorable!!Six members visited the Local Athlone Government Hospital and provided food hampers to all the 65 patients in the hospital. Twenty food hampers were also given to the Female recovery ward at the Mental Hospital.We thank all our sponsors who helped to make this event possible. Lefty and Fortis from Phoenix Bakery for the Queen Cakes, Abu from Ok Stores for the box of Apples, Mr Shabbir from Choppies for Four cases of Fruit Juice, Lobatse Meat Market for the cooked Tongue and the Club bought balls and stationery for the patients in the children's ward.Thank you all very much!!!! The evening was celebrated with a social at the President's den.Shall upload photographs of the event.
